Elvira Portillo was born to José María Portillo and Erasma Arroyo on January 25, 1935. She went to school in Arroyo Grande, Guerrero, Mexico. She married Carlos Gonzalez Díaz in December 1953 in Mexico City, Mexico. The most important thing to Elvira was giving praise to Jehovah. Everywhere she went, she preached of Jehovah’s Kingdom. As she was able throughout her life she served as an Auxiliary Pioneer. She also prepared for all the meetings and shared heartfelt comments with her congregation. Elvira had absolute confidence that Jehovah would always take care of her. She was living proof of the words of Psalm 37:25, “I was once young and now I am old, But I have not seen anyone righteous abandoned, Nor his children looking for bread” her life motto was “Jehovah will provide and he’ll do so in a large way now and in the Paradise!”
Elvira Portillo is preceded in death by her husband Carlos Gonzalez Díaz.
Elvira Portillo is survived by her children, Yemina (Raul), Abdiel (Juanita), Eliú (Julia), Eunice, Judith, Francisco (Lidia), Joel (Minoshka), 18 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren, her older sister Eufrosina and nieces and nephews.
