Eric Preston Stone

On February 15, 2015, following a year long battle with pancreatic cancer, Eric Preston Stone passed away at his home in Fenton Missouri. Born in Atlanta Georgia on September 30, 1969, he was 45 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, Frank R. and Aloma C. Stone of Charlottesville Va., his sister Lisa M. Gray of Ballwin Missouri, two nephews, Austin D. Gray and Cody J. Gray, and a niece Makenzie B. Gray. He is also survived by two aunts, Cassie Snow of Mt. Airy N. C. and Verona Crim of Martinsburg W. V. Mr. Stone worked in many different fields, however, his primary work was as a cross country truck driver for over 20 years. He recently enrolled at Saint Louis Community College to obtain a degree in Information Technology. He was voted to the honor roll and inducted into the academic honor society of Phi Theta Kappa, the Xi Lambda Chapter. He had lived in the Saint Louis area since 1989 and was well known by many of his peers. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle and a good friend. He touched many lives during his 45 years and will be fondly remembered by many, especially those loyal to Bill W. He loved his family, his dogs, his friends, his country and his God. Although far to brief, he mostly had the life he wanted. May he rest in peace.

I have know Eric since he was born and have watched his journey in life. He turned out to be a man that I had the privilege to know, and I am very proud of him. He is now resting in his God’s arms. He is no longer in pain; he is resting in peace. My love and prayers to all of his family and friends. Eric loved us all.

I especially enjoyed the times Eric would stop by the Houston, TX, area to visit with us during his truck driving days! As a fellow road warrior, we shared good stories. Eric had a wonderful laugh, and those are the memories I shall cherish. Eric had great determination and a gentle soul. I know he’s in a better place; just waiting on the rest of us so we can share many more laughs together! God did have mercy; may he bless us all and reunite us on the pearly shore.
