The world is a sadder place without them. Lovely people both

Agree with Alberta, Gene and Jean were a lovely, caring couple, who together, touched many Holy Infant parishioners. God bless them both! We will miss them!

I loved my Uncle Gene! Uncle Gene was like another Daddy in my life. He was always kind and gentle with me. He was the videographer for our wedding, and he was so sweet to make sure he zoomed in on his own bride in the church. He and his wife, dear Aunt Jeanie, raised 4 boys that I thought of as brothers. I will miss Uncle Gene so much, but am comforted by the thought of him in the arms of sweet Aunt Jeanie. God holds them now. Love, Wendy

Gene & Jeanie were the neighbors everyone wishes they had, and we were lucky because they were ours. They were an integral part of our neighborhood. They had a loving relationship that was enviable and so apparent to all who knew them. Gene did so may projects on our house, that I feel the house is part his. His skills were extraordinary. If you ever needed a tool or a helping hand, Gene had both. He will be truly missed, and the neighborhood will never be quite the same. The only thing that makes this easier is that I’m sure he’s reunited with Jeanie, at her side where he is supposed to be. We love you Gene.

A great loss for the Steffens family and those who loved him. He was such a happy guy, he would sit by quietly and let Aunt Jeani be the center of attention. He had a big smile and sweet laugh. He raised 4 great guys! We’ll all miss Uncle Gene. God Bless his family and friends in this bitter sweet time. Now resting in His presence, Glory Be to Our Father!

Gene was simply the best neighbor and friend anyone could ask for. He helped all of us with so many home repairs I’m sure we’ve all lost count. Both he and Jeani were the kindest people we’ve ever met. We miss them both so much but they will remain in our hearts forever.
