Evelyn Mae Zorn

Evelyn Mae Zorn passed away peacefully at home December 17, 2017 with her loyal husband by her side.

She is preceded in death by her father, Henry (Agnes) Roher and mother Veva (Daniel) McEnaney, her son, Daniel Zorn, and two grandsons, Louis and Leslie. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Russell R. Zorn, seven children: Don Houdysell, Evelyn (Randy) Young, Julia Hoffmann, Cheryl (Mike) Leone, Richard (Barb) Zorn, Michael Zorn, and Bridget (Matt) Zorn-Goers, and will be remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended Zorn family.

Evelyn was a Registered Nurse at St. John’s Mercy, where she worked for 23 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post 213’s Auxiliary, and she was especially close to her church family at Harmony (formerly Stephen Memorial United Methodist Church).

Visitation will be at Harmony United Methodist Church, 2730 Walton Rd, St. Louis, MO 63114. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

En lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a lesson from Evelyn’s final days and make time to be with your loved ones. Memorials can be made to Harmony Church (www.harmonystl.org) and or Jamestown New Horizons, www.jnh-goneriding.org

    We took Dad to see Clydesdales and Christmas lights last night. While waiting in line, parents were talking to a little girl–Evelyn. Life has continued, but these glimpses of your presence are noticed. I miss you.

    Mom, some days are hard….your two sons, Daniel and Don have joined you in peace…we miss them greatly..I am always reminded of your presence in so many things…life has been crazy for awhile, but as we age, it seems not to be as difficult..I pray that you are at peace and know that you were loved….love you Mom…
