Frederick Grant Hoffmeister
July 9th, 1952 – October 18th, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick (Fritz) Grant Hoffmeister, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Fritz passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the age of 72.
Fritz was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 9, 1952. He attended high school in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Drury College and a master’s degree from The University of Missouri. Throughout his life, Fritz worked in various roles as an environment, health, and safety Manager. Fritz was an athlete in his younger years; he enjoyed tennis, baseball, and basketball, among other sports. He enjoyed being outdoors and looked forward to annual float trips with his fraternity brothers. Fritz took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed coaching and cheering for his kids. He was a dedicated family man and found the most joy when spending time with his loved ones.
Fritz is survived by his former wife, Julia Hoffmeister, and their five children, Jacob (Kayla) Hoffmeister, Jenny (Matt) McCoy, Rachel Hoffmeister, Anna (Ian) Jones, and Grant Hoffmeister; his five grandchildren, Lincoln, Russell, Kate, Rowan, and Leona; his sister, Mosey Hoffmeister; and his brother, Kurt (Susan) Hoffmeister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick (Fred) and Jean Hoffmeister.
A celebration of life will take place at a later time.
Fritz will be remembered for his generosity, his dedication to family, and his unwavering faith in God. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
It was such a blessing to know Fritz in later life. An inquisitive, kind, and passionately strong man, sharing kernels of truth with his friends and family. His lessons learned and shared live on here while he’s at rest with our Lord.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Your dad was an incredible neighbor and friend for over 30 years. Paul and I have always admired him for his love and dedication to you all. May you all find peace as you navigate this new normal.
