Frederick Hirtz
Frederick passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on August 12th at the age of 84.
He was born in Glennonville, Missouri on August 1st, 1935 to John and Alice (nee Green) Hirtz. He was married to the love of his life Shirley Jean (nee Petry) Hirtz of 41 years until her death in 1998, he is preceded in death by his son Francis James Hirtz, a granddaughter Jenny Lee Hirtz and several brothers.
Fred is lovingly remembered and survived by daughters Margaret (Lawrence) Brown, Patricia (James) McAfee, Katherine (James) Lankford, Pamela (Dave) Sitek, and son Wayne Hirtz, as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Deloris McMunn, Veronica Camp, Monica Stratman, and brother Charles Hirtz.
Fred owned and operated a successful tree service business (Allied Tree Service) for many years with his brother Gregory Hirtz and partner Harold Slade. He was ordained as a deacon in the St Louis Arch Dioceses in 1981 and served till moving back to his hometown of Glennonville. There he served in the Springfield/Cape Girardeau Dioceses area until his death. He had a passion for helping those in need and throwing a line or two in his down time (fishing).
A Mass Service for Fred will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 24th, 2019, at St Teresa Catholic Church in Glennonville, MO. A luncheon will follow after internment at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
So very sorry for your loss. I remember the group back in the day having so much fun. now they can party in heaven and dance and laugh and catch up. Prayers with all of you. Love you guys.
