Frederick Lee Barnes was born March 16, 1966 in St. Louis, MO at Homer G Phillips Hospital to Beatrice Barnes and George Smith Sr.

He attended St. Louis Public Schools and received his GED at St Louis Job Corps Center. Freddie, as we affectionately called him, gave his life to Christ at an early age at Blackwell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church where his Mother’s family belonged.

He was blessed with his first son, Frederick L. Barnes Jr. in October 1983. Freddie married Katrina Cannon in 1992. And later married Tenesa Long in 2004 and to that union his second son, Isaac Jeremiah Barnes was born in July 2008.

He joined Trinity Full Gospel Church and loved Bishop Brandon and the Church. He recently started visiting Friendly Temple Church.

Although Freddie had some struggles during his short time on this earth, he had a heart for people. If there was anything he could do for you, he would with a smile.

Freddie was recently employed at Marsden Cleaning Services for the last year.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Beatrice Terry; Fathers, Vernon Terry and George Smith Sr., his sister, Ja’ton M. Barnes; his Grandmothers, Gloria Williams, and Bernadine Caldwell; Grandfather, John Williams, along with his Great Grandparents and Uncles.

Frederick L. Barnes Sr. departed this life on September 3, 2022, he leaves to cherish his memory: Sons – Frederick Jr. (Antina), and Isaac; Grandchildren – Curtis, Zyahra, Zachary, and Zowii, Brother – Gile; 3 Nieces – Monique, Ericka, and Asia; 1 Nephew – Larry II; several honorary Daughters and Sons; Aunts; Cousins, friends, and a special Aunt Lucy and Uncle Earnest whom he loved.

Services: to be held at St. Louis Cremation, 2135 Chouteau Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103, Saturday, September 17, visitation at 11:00 am with service to follow at 1:00 pm til 3:00 pm.
