Gambill, Eddie G.

Eddie Glenn Gambill, age 82, passed peacefully on Saturday, June 16th, 2018. Dear son of the late Edgar & Helen (Funk) Gambill; Loving husband of the late Louise (Keller) Gambill; Beloved Father of daughter Deborah Gambill and grandsons Daniel and Adam Swinger; Son Timothy Gambill (Chris) and grandson Beau; Stepdaughter Karen (Kevin) Dickey and step grandchildren Kelly and Katelyn; Stepdaughter Denise (Pat) Keller and step grandchildren Marina and Reese; Stepson Michael (Tina) Offerjost and step grandchildren Nicholas and Meredith; Dear brother Jim (Kathy) Gambill; and predeceased brother Lon Gambill. Ed will also be lovingly remembered by in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long-time friends for his kindness and generous spirit.

Ed Gambill was a robust and vibrant man who lived his life honestly, thoughtfully, and with great zest. Throughout his life he was a good provider and taught his children how to lead an exemplary and creative life. His welcoming way made him many friends throughout life, as he enjoyed nothing better than bringing family and friends together. And when he did, his comical storytelling often made him the center of much laughter and good times for all. He worked as a maintenance man most of his days, enjoying the challenge of creating solutions for problems at hand. In his early years, he worked building airplanes for a living. For fun, he once built a boat. In his free time, he helped countless friends, family members, and neighbors with home projects–not requiring pay or even notice, simply because they needed his help. Early on, he enjoyed competitive sports including baseball, football, and softball. He excelled at all of these and remarkably, all of these skills were all self-taught. A little later, and throughout the rest of his life he enjoyed Bull Shoals Lake with family and friends- fishing, boating, swimming and water skiing. He taught many family members and friends as well how to enjoy “lake life”. No one ever enjoyed being out in a boat, rain or shine, and catching fish than Ed Gambill. Early in his fifties, he began swing dancing and there he met Louise, who was soon the love of his life. After they married, she was not only his best dance partner, but also his best helper and best friend, too. She was the one person in his life who tried hardest to be consistently nurturing and caring for his needs. Ed loved Louise with his whole heart. Together they enjoyed many friendships as a couple, acquired a lakehouse, and continued fishing, playing cards, and dancing for 26 happy years. It is our hope they have now reunited and are forever joyful continuing on together.

Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
