Gary Lynn Borgfield

Gary Lynn Borgfield (59) passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home surrounded by love on April 20, 2013. His nine month long battle with lung cancer finally took its toll. Gary was born on June 25, 1953 in St. Louis, MO to Paul Borgfield and Lucille White; he was the second of six kids. He was an avid dog lover who would care for any animal during their time of need. One of his most favorite past times was speeding through town on his motorcycle. The beach was a place that he insisted on regularly visiting since he always felt the most at peace near the waves. Restoration to vehicles was a huge part of his life. He enjoyed the challenge of fixing as well as rebuilding a vehicle to a renewed state. Nascar was by far his favorite thing to watch on television. Anyone who knew Gary well knew that during race day he never took his eyes off the screen. He absolutely adored his children and grandchildren. They were the reason for living to him. His bright and loving spirit will continue to shine through all of them.

Gary was preceded in death by Paul Borgfield (father), Larry Borgfield (brother), and Bryan Borgfield (son). Loving survivors include his children; Brandy (Zachary) Kirn and Randy Borgfield. His mother; Lucille White. Two brothers; Rick (Rebecca) Borgfield and Danny Borgfield. Two sisters; Carol (Steve) Borgfield and Pam Tenkhoff. Two grandchildren; Bryan Borgfield and Colin Kirn.

A celebration of life for Gary will be held on April 26, 2013 from 3 to 5 at the St. Louis Cremation 2135 Chouteau Ave. St. Louis, MO 63103. It will be a private ceremony for those closest and dear to his heart. His ashes will be spread at his favorite beaches along the Florida coastline.

Gary, you were the most easy going person I think I ever knew. You and Larry save some room for your Sides cousins and we will raise a little—-together once again.

Uncle Gary, you will be very misses!! There are so many years since my dad passed that we missed out on but I will always cherish the many phone conversations we had in the last several weeks!! And I will never forget the last thing you said to me, “Don’t you ever forget who loves you…you’re Uncle Gary and I will always love you!” I love you too!! I hope you and my dad don’t cause too much chaos up there on heaven…every time I hear a thunder storm now, I’m gonna think it is you two, being wild and crazy like you always were when you were together (mom has told me plenty of stories…hehe!). Love and miss you, Wendy 🙂
