Gary Press 74 of St. Louis, Missouri passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He enjoyed life filled with family and friends. Gone too soon. Beloved husband of 53 years to Cathy (Volk) Press, devoted father of Stacy Riddle, Jeff Press, Jonathan Press, Sally (Matt) Struckman. Treasured Papa of Lexi, Hunter, Katelyn, Lilly, Aiden, and Colby. Loving brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to all.

Gary loved spending time with his family. His love of sports extended into his family. The kids all received their passion for sports from him. He would watch Stacy cheer. He would take Jeff bowling and umpire his softball games. He enjoyed going to watch Jon play hockey. He also traveled all over watching Sally play volleyball. Gary enjoyed going to hockey, baseball, and football games with the family. He would always say “Bring home a winner” then he would bring home White Castles for everyone. Papa babysat for all his grand babies. He also supported them by attending graduations, concerts, art shows, games, and even when they were streamed online.

Gary loved being retired. It took the man all day to do nothing. He loved playing golf, fishing, and camping with his family. Cathy and Gary enjoyed walking, going to the park, and hiking in their retirement. Gary would tell you the secret to his beautiful marriage is “Happy Wife, Happy Life” and he took that to heart. He would do whatever Cathy wanted. He had a heart of gold and will be genuinely missed by all.

At this time the family will not be having a service for Gary. The family will continue to celebrate Gary’s life in their hearts every day.
