Gayle Ann Chase

November 23, 1944 – May 23, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, mother-in law, grandmother, Gayle Ann Chase (Eberle), who passed away on May 23, 2024 at the age of 79 from end stage kidney disease at her daughter’s home in St. Charles, Missouri.

Born on November 23, 1944, in Saint Louis, Missouri, she grew up in Riverview Gardens and later moved to Florissant, Missouri.  She graduated from Riverview Gardens High School in 1963.  She had various bookkeeping jobs; Rexall Drug Store, International Paper Company, Furniture Distribution Center, Bert’s Refrigeration and Allen Foods/US Foods. She also worked second jobs at Aloha Rollar Rink and Busch Stadium.  She was known to make the best Cotton Candy! She retired from Allen Foods in 1999.

She was a dedicated and loving mother to her children, Douglas Chase and Jennifer Martens (Dan). She considered her children her greatest achievement.  She was a devoted grandmother & Great Grandmother to Gaylynn Jones, Douglas Jones, Riley Jones and Skylar Lavender, Camden and Brady Lampe and Remi Jones. She was a caring stepmother to Chris, Heather, Erin and PJ Meyerpeter. She was a loyal and devoted wife to Chris Meyerpeter for 27 years. Her friends, son-in-law, husband, children and grandchildren will miss her dearly.

Gayle loved dancing in her younger years along with watching her kids and grandkids sporting events. She enjoyed playing scrabble and having lunch dates with her long-time friends Kay, Judy, Jean, and Turp. She was a sports enthusiast.  The Cardinals were her favorite.

Gayle was a kind and generous soul, always putting her kids’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and quick wit. She was a good listener, never judgmental and always easy-going. She never talked bad about anyone. She never complained, even to the very end.  She was a Devoted Dog Mom to her Boston Bulldogs; Buttons (childhood dog), Rocky and Buster. She was absolutely devastated with the passing of them.

Gayle is preceded in death by her parents; Harold and Eunice Eberle, Step-Mother; Teresa Eberle,  Brother; Gerald Eberle, Sister-in-Law; Loretta Sue Eberle, Son; Douglas Chase.
