George was 6’7” tall and was involved in multiple sports. His favorite sport was football
but after being told he was too “small”, he focused on basketball. George graduated
from McBride High School and earned a basketball scholarship to Quincy University in
Illinois where he studied Mechanical Engineering.
Upon leaving Quincy University, George accepted a position with Proctor & Gamble in St.
Louis, MO. He worked at Proctor & Gamble several years before accepting a position
with Gaylord and relocating to Los Angeles, California. During his career, George
designed images on corrugated boxes for products such as the board game Sorry!
In his spare time, George enjoyed playing basketball, cooking, carpentry, drawing, and
watching sports. He was also an avid reader. George had a good sense of humor and
loved to joke with others. He was no stranger to conversation and often enjoyed lengthy
debates about politics, sports, religion, or other subjects. George loved living in Los
Angeles. As a favor to a friend, he once worked briefly as a nightclub bouncer. He will be
dearly missed.
A family memorial service will be announced later.
You will be truly missed. Rest in Power!
