Georgene J. Okes 81 of Imperial, MO died Nov 6, 2023. Ms. Okes was a 1959 graduate of Graysville High School in Indiana. 

Born Nov 21, 1941 and lived in Graysville. She was the daughter of the late Loren V. Okes and Eunice F. (Hiatt) Okes. 

She was a homemaker known for her home-cooked meals and desserts. She loved playing games, hiking, camping, sewing and spending time with her family. 

While living in Indiana, she was an active member of the Assembly of God in Merom. She was a secretary, played the organ and directed the Vacation Bible School and led the Women’s Ministry for several years. Once moving to the St. Louis area she became a member of Cross Point church and served on the Hospitality Team. 

She is survived by her 2 daughters:  Melisa (Brian) Robert of Imperial and Teresa (Jasen) Kinworthy of Arnold; 6 grandchildren: Aaron Robert, Joshua (Kaylyn) Robert, Petra Robert, Justin and Jessica Kinworthy and Abigail Smith; and 4 great grandchildren Josiah, Sawyer, Anne Marie Robert, and Ella Jean Robert; 2 Brothers Ronald Okes and Donald Okes, and 1 sister, Gloria Jean Okes.  

She was preceded in death by her son David Wayne Copper, a daughter Arlene Copper and a brother Nelson Okes.

A graveside service will be held in May.
