
Gerald “Jerry” Steven Wynn
Gerald “Jerry” Steven Wynn, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 16.
Jerry was born on September 18, 1942, to Pete and Ann Wynn. He attended Brentwood High School, where he would meet the love of his life, Patricia Jean Eaton.
Following high school, he enlisted in the Army in 1962. He was fortunate enough to be stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. While in the service Jerry and Pat would get married on November 24, 1962, and they would welcome their only son, Gerald Steven “Steve” Wynn II in 1965.
Jerry was honorably discharged from the Army on October 11, 1965. His family returned to St. Louis, eventually building their home in O’Fallon, Missouri. There he began his long career in the retail business. He started at Target in Bridgeton before moving up the street to Grandpa Pigeons. He stayed at Grandpa Pigeons until he eventually realized a dream of his, to own his own business. In the summer of 1976, Jerry and his father would open Coast To Coast Hardware in the O’Fallon Plaza. Together they would operate Coast To Coast for nearly seven years. Afterwards, he would continue his retail career before retiring in 2006.
Shortly after Jerry and Pat retired, they sold their O’Fallon home and moved to Republic, Missouri to enjoy retirement and spend time with family. In 2022, they moved to Cottleville, Missouri, to live with their son and daughter-in-law.
Jerry loved fishing, golf, bowling, playing cards and traveling with his many friends and family. Jerry and Pat enjoyed cruises and the occasional visit to their favorite casinos.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Ann Wynn, his sister Janet Miles and his wife of over 60 years Patricia. He is survived by his son Steve, daughter-in-law Jodi and grandsons Matthew Jordan Wynn and Jay Patrick Wynn.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, December 14, at his home 547 John Pitman Drive, Cottleville, MO 63304. All friends and family are invited for food, drink and loving memories.
