Gerald Leon Linthicum

Gerald Leon Linthicum (Jack) passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on April 12, 2024 after a long battle with Lymphoma. Jack was born in Mattoon, IL, on September 5, 1936, but spent most of his life as a proud St. Louisan.

Jack is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of over 66 years, Thrissie Lee Herren; his children, Keith and Bridget; and son in-law, Tom Kathman. His favorite role was “Bubba” to his 4 grandchildren, Clayton, Julia, Grace and T.J.  We cannot fail to mention Jack’s constant canine companion, Sammy, who will stay in the family.

Despite the many challenges Jack faced in recent years, he showed courage and optimism, always quick with a corny joke and a smile. Most importantly, he never waivered in his faith that “God has a plan”. Anyone who knew Jack knows he is now reunited with his parents, brother, sisters and friends, probably making them laugh.

In the spirit of Jack’s love of the outdoors, the family plans to hold a small, private Celebration of Life in a park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jack’s name to Evelyn’s House BJC Hospice:    https://www.foundationbarnesjewish.org/Give-Hospice
