1939 – 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Gilmore Llyod “Gil” Peterson, who left us on March 13, 2025, at the age of 86. Surrounded by his loving family in his final days, Gil was a man of strong values, deeply devoted to his country, community, and family.

A proud Marine, Gil served in the Vietnam War before becoming a pilot for TWA for over 30 years. Alongside his wife, he also built a successful home construction business, a passion they pursued together for 20 years.

Gil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Karen Sue Peterson, and leaves behind a legacy of love and strength through his three daughters: Candy (Andy), Maija (Tim), and Autumn (Philip). He was a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren: Hannah (27), Grace (25), Avery (21), Jacob (20), Nolan (17), Zoe (15), Oliver (13), and Graham (12)—all of whom will continue to honor his memory by living their lives to the fullest.

A celebration of Gil’s life will be held on April 3, 2025, at Kimberling City Methodist Church in Kimberling City, MO, where we will gather at 2pm to honor his life and impact on our hearts.
