Glenn Brown
Mr. Glenn J. Brown, of Chesterfield, Missouri, born on July 9, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late June Viola (nee Braden) and Glenn Coleman Brown, passed away at age 86 on June 17, 2023 at his home in Chesterfield, Missouri. Mr. Brown was a printer by trade who perfected his craft until he retired at the age of 70. Glenn was married to Alice Gayle Brown (nee Parker) for over 61 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle, his son-in-law, Buddy Pupillo and his brother-in-law, Donald Walker. Glenn is survived by his daughters, Debra Pupillo, Denise Gurnow, Donna (Gerry) Weiler, D. Kimberly Whittle, and Karen Brown; his sisters, Ann Walker, Chris (Tom) Freeman, and Sue Perry; his brothers, Michael (Jenni) Brown, and John (Debbie) Brown; grandchildren, Christopher (Shawn) Pupillo, Diana Pupillo, Nichole (Anthony) Massey, Andrea Gurnow, Candice Gurnow, Carina Gurnow, Steven (Gina) Gurnow, Ashley (Cory) LaFaver, Olivia Whittle, and Savannah Whittle; and great grandchildren, Adelia Pupillo, Lexi Massey, Lizzi (Jon) Leckbee, Carter Massey, Aaven Massey, Adelyn Massey, Stella Skasick, Dexter Swank, Lea LaFaver, and Ella LaFaver; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Glenn was devoted to his family and known for being overly protective of his wife and five daughters. Glenn enjoyed watching the multitude of wildlife around his home, especially the birds and deer. When he didn’t get enough wildlife at home, he would venture off to one of his favorite local attractions, the St. Louis Zoo or Lone Elk Park. Glenn also spent much of his retirement taking trips to the Lake of the Ozarks and Hannibal, Missouri.
An open house celebration of Glenn’s life will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at The Lodge Des Peres (1050 Des Peres Road, Des Peres, MO 63131) from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with a small service held at 6:00 pm. Glenn will be laid to rest at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. Louis Zoo or a charity of your choice.
I knew Glenn when I was young man working at Pupillos in the late 70’s and he also my cousins Uncle. He was a kind man . It was a pleasure knowing Glenn . My condolences to the Brown Family .
