Grace was born in Chicago, IL to Joseph A. Morrison Sr and Ethel Baptiste Morrison.  She was the youngest of five children.  She is survived by her brother David and was preceded in death by her brothers Paul and Joseph Jr (a.k.a Sonny) and by her sister Jeanne-Marie.

Grace and her father moved to St. Louis, MO where she attended Rosati-Kain High School.  After her graduation, she pursued her higher education at Harris-Stowe Teacher’s College and later earned a Master’s degree in Education at University of Missouri-St. Louis.  She went on to become an elementary school teacher for the St. Louis Public School District as well as the Baltimore Maryland, New Orleans Louisiana and Dallas Texas Public School Systems.

In February 1958 she married Frederick D. Johnson Jr with whom she had three children: Frederick III, Christopher and Stephanie.  Later in July 1972 she married Hollis W. Taylor with whom she had one daughter, Holly, who preceded her in death.

Grace had a fantastic sense of style and a flare for fashion and she took great pride in her appearance. She loved to dance, travel the country by train, was an avid reader of historical novels, enjoyed playing Jeopardy along with the t.v. contestants, playing card games and bingo with friends and playing the slots at her favorite local casino.

Grace volunteered for the St. Louis Effort for AIDS and was an active member in her church.

After living a long and full life, Grace leaves to mourn her loss, her children and their spouses, her grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, colleagues and caregivers.

Grace requested a simple cremation service, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that you kindly make a donation to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital

🕊️Rest In Peace Amazing Grace 💜
