Grace Masters

Grace Masters (nee Vitale) passed away on December 19, 2017 at her daughter’s home in St. Louis, Missouri after an on-going struggle with cancer.

Grace was born on April 2, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of Helen Noonan and Rocco Vitale and was raised in St. Louis. In 1954, Grace married the love of her life, Melvin Masters. They resided in St. Louis and Florissant, MO where they together raised their family until Mel’s tragic death in 1972. Grace continued to live in North County while raising her six children. Once her kids were raised, Grace enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, traveling to Ireland and Minnesota, and working as a cook at several restaurants.

Grace was happiest with family and friends; they were her passion and delight. She loved to read, watch movies, cook, and do crossword puzzles. She was always laughing and telling stories. She made friends wherever she went and was loved by many.

Grace is survived by her sister, Phyllis Zwilling, her children Mark (Liz) Masters, Cyndi Lill, Scott (Chris) Masters, Paul Masters, Jeannine Silverberg and Phillip Masters, and her ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Noonan and Rocco Vitale; husband, Mel Masters; sister, Carol Ege; brother, Sonny Vitale; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Delaney.

A memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Bellefontaine Cemetery, 4947 W. Florissant Avenue | St. Louis, MO 63115 on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will follow at: Cugino’s, 1595 N Highway 67 St, Florissant, MO 63031

Donations may be made in Grace’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
