Guy-Robert Porter

Guy-Robert Porter, 65, passed away suddenly on
Saturday, February 24, 2024. He was the loving husband
of Cathy McClarnan of Chesterfield, Missouri; father of
Mallory Donohue of Columbia, Missouri and a close friend,
confidant, and mentor to many.
Guy grew up in Morristown, NJ., and relocated to St. Louis,
Missouri to attend Washington University where he
majored in Neuroscience and Philosophy. Afterwards, he
attended and completed the required course work at Logan
College of Chiropractic.
He was a practicing chiropractor for many years and later
was an adjunct faculty member at Logan. In his later
years, Guy transitioned to a career in financial planning
with Porter & Kickham, Inc., and owned Engineered Risk
Advisory (ERA). He spent much of his career mentoring
young entrepreneurs in the fields of science, mathematics,
and finance. He was also very passionate about working
with U.S. veterans and facilitating their applications (and
obtainment) of the little known “Aid & Attendance” benefit.
Guy had the honor of helping these wartime veterans and
their families and made many lasting friendships along the
way.
Guy was a practicing Buddhist and never lost his love of
learning, discovery, and exploration. His curiosity and
open-mindedness always led to a deeper appreciation of
learning, knowledge and understanding.
At his request, there will be no public service. There will be
a Celebration of Life sometime in the future for all that
would like to share their memories of Guy. Details will be
posted on Guy’s Facebook page (Guy-Robert Porter) at
the appropriate time. Family and friends may also post
comments to Guy’s memorialized Facebook Page.

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Guy-Robert Porter. He truly was a lifetime learner and such a kind person. I remember his love of learning various subjects in high school. My condolences to his family.

My family and myself had a long history with Guy. A highly committed practitioner of medicine with unwavering commitment to his trade. He gave the gift of longer healthier life to our father. He was a blessing in many ways. An imperfect man as we all are but he truly cared. It is a great loss. Our deepest thought be with you.
