Harold Don Waymon

1936 ~ 2019

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019, Harold D. “Don” Waymon passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 83.

Don was born on January 8, 1936 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas to the late Herman “Blue” and Nina Faye (Hufstedler) Waymon. He started work very young picking cotton and cutting wood, After 8th Grade he started at the Service Station where his work on cars began. On June 23, 1957 he married Lola Mae Skimahorn. Lola convinced Don they needed to move to the big city St. Louis. This is where Harold became Don at his first Auto-Mechanic job. They raised two sons, Larry and Steve Waymon, and spoiled four grandchildren, Matt, Aidan, Alysha, and Brad Waymon.

Don was Mason and very involved with Easter Star. Don and Lola held many appointments such as Worthy Patron they traveled all over the United States making many friends. He loved Camping, Hunting, Fishing, Archery and eventually golf.

Don was preceded in death by his Parents, Siblings, his loving wife Lola, and great-grandson August Austin Ackmann. He is Survived by his two Sons Larry and Steve (Dawnise) Waymon, four Grandchildren Matt (Chaney) Waymon, Aidan Waymon, Alysha (Mark) Ackmann, Brad Waymon, one Step- Grand Daughter Abbie Goerke and three Great- Grandchildren Declan Waymon, Lincoln Waymon and Mark Ackmann III.

Memorial Service will be held on

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

St. Louis Cremation

320 Jungermann Rd, St. Peters, MO 63376.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or charity of choice.

    Don was a great neighbor and would take the time to come over and help when I had car troubles. I thank him for that. Lola and Don were a kindhearted couple who loved their family dearly. God Bless them and their families.

    I met Don when I joined Pilgrim Lodge many years ago. I remember him as beinf a very nice, kind man. I am sorry for your loss.
