Henry Beers Jr.
Beers Jr, Henry Charles, was born March 20, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died peacefully on May 15, 2026 at the age of 92 with his four remaining children at his side.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Jenny Beers; wife of 71 years, Jane Beers; son, Henry “Chip” Beers III; and son-in-law Charlie Kwentus. He is survived by his children, Kara Sisk, Jeffrey Beers, Ramsay Salisbury (Mick Salisbury), and Courtney Beers (Jordan Mahaney); seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Henry was, first and foremost, a dedicated and devoted spouse to Jane for the duration of their union from college through her death in 2024. He was a father and grandfather – leading his family with confidence and unconditional love. He was a friend, sailor, and salesman – working in New York, Chicago, and St. Louis as well as sailing waters, near and far. He was an eternal optimist – seeing the positive and potential in even the most challenging of circumstances. If you knew him you most likely experienced his charismatic smile, enthusiasm, and kind heart. He was always up for a conversation. These qualities, characteristics, and way of facing each day will live on in the community that supported and surrounded him.
A service will be held at 10 am on June 27, 2026 at Grace Episcopal Church in Kirkwood, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to L’Arche St. Louis (www.larchestlouis.org) at 9445 Litzinger Road, 63144.

I only met Henry twice when our Ladies Club from Sacred Heart Church had a party for the residents at Big Bend Woods. He was so full of life, sweet, kind and thankful for the refreshments and party activities. He looked so young for his age complete with a smile when he talked to you. We talk for quite some time. A beautiful caring man the way he talked about his family and wife, Jane . I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Last week I was gathering items to bring to him when a friend told me about his passing. He made a lasting impression on me with his spiritual and religious attitude. I believe he is happy at peace with his son and wife and wants you to know that he will be looking over his family from above. Love to your family.!
Wonderful man and Best man at my father’s wedding and lifelong family friend
Henry radiated joy and warmth and it was my privilege to have gotten to know him through his son Chip over the past decade.
When I started teaching Adult Education at Grace Episcopal Church, Kirkwood, Missouri, Henry became one of my most faithful students. Henry was thirsty for knowledge in every class I taught at Grace on Sunday mornings. He was very intelligent in his \ questions and really just couldn’t get enough. He talked to me personally about many things; about his son Chip and about his beloved wife Jane. When I retired from my position at Grace, Henry came on that special day, which touched me so much. I knew that he and jane had moved because of Jane’s medical problems at the time. I was sad not seeing him and felt terrible for him when he not only lost his son Chip but Jane as well. I wrote him a letter after that, but never heard back from him. I am sad that he has now died, but I hope and pray that in God’s grace he is reunited with his son and his beloved wife Jane.
