Irene Genevieve Peaker
Irene Genevieve Peaker (nee. Nies) passed away peacefully surrounded by her three children on December 22, 2024. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 45 years, James E. Peaker, her parents, Joseph and Dorothy Nies, and her older brother Joseph Nies.
Irene is survived by her three children, Jim Peaker (Denise), Dorothy Gardner (Bryan) and Irene Quick (Bryan) and by her sister Dorothy Wokovich (Joseph), brother Jack Nies (Suzanne) and sister-in-law Joan Nies. She was a grandmother to Nick, Meagan, Madison, Jaxon and Ethan and most recently great grandmother to Jethro.
She was a faithful member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Creve Coeur where Irene and her husband Jim were actively involved in Marriage Encounter. Irene also volunteered for many years running the Sunday School and later the church’s religious gift shop. She will be missed by both family, many cousins, and childhood friends.

We loved her so much! I remember before I even knew her personally through Jim and CYC, we would sit behind the family at church and you could just see the love she and Jim had for each other. I feel blessed to have known her–and the whole family.
