Irvin Jackson

Life Reflection

Irvin Vernell Jackson was born December 6,1963, in Scott, Mississippi to the union of Rose Dale Jackson and James Jackson Jr. He transitioned from this life to eternal life with his Lord on March 14, 2026.

At a young age he was baptized at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Diverse City Church was his church home at the time he departed this life. Irvin loved the Lord and no matter what he was going through or what he was doing, you would always hear him say, “God is Good.” Although his body lost the battle to kidney disease, he won his place with our Lord through his belief and faith in Jesus Christ.

In 1992, Irvin moved to South Bend, Indiana where he met the love of his life. He married Michelle Oler on May 18, 2001, and to this union Christofer Irvin Jackson was born.

Irvin’s infectious smile had a way of welcoming his family, friends as well as strangers. Irvin had a God-given gift, the ability to work with his hands. He enjoyed helping others through his life occupation of home remodeling. His work will be remembered as he made his mark in many homes.

His presence in our lives will be sorely missed. He loved his son, Christofer, dearly as well as each one of his family members. Spending time with family was one of Irvin’s favorite things to do. He never wanted to miss a gathering because they were special to him, times he didn’t take for granted.

Irvin’s memory will be cherished by his father, James Jackson Jr.; son, Christofer Jackson; former wife, Michelle (Oler) Jackson; step-daughter, Corrinna Oler; grandchildren, Jordan Oler and Parker Bounds; great granddaughter, Novah Oler; sisters: Patricia Johnson, Theresa Jackson (Derrick) and Towana Jackson Harris; brothers: Jeffrey Jackson, Raymond Jackson (Kari Jackson) and Donnie Hollins; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Irvin was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Dale Jackson; stepfather, Raymond Moore; brothers Ernest Kellum and Myrod Jackson; and brother-in-law, Joseph Harris.

The family of Irvin Vernell Jackson would like to thank everyone for all your support during this time. We appreciate your visits, calls, kind words, cards, gifts, support, and prayers as we process our loss.

“Son, I love you.”

23rd Psalm (NIV)

“The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”
