Ivan Everet Diedrich

With heavy hearts we announce, Ivan Diedrich passed away at the age of 63 on the morning of Sunday, October 29, 2023 after a 9 year battle with Frontotemporal Dementia. He was able to pass in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.

Ivan started working with Boeing (formerly known as McDonnell Douglas Corp.) right out of North County Technical High School in 1978. His classification was a MER (Mechanical Electrical Radio) where he did the wiring on F15, F18 & C17 planes. He retired in 2014, after working 37 years for them. Its amazing to think in these days, Ivan had one job his entire career! He enjoyed working there and met a lot of good friends along the way . Some even became his work family. Ivan was the most gentle & kind person you could ever meet. He loved to be around people and never
met a stranger. He always had a good story to tell; if you ever heard one of Ivan’s stories, they were legendary! Ivan enjoyed being outdoors more than anything. You could find him fishing, deer and bird hunting, or just shooting clay birds with friends and family. He loved visiting his parents in Cuba MO, once again being outdoors on an ATV or golf cart, riding around the lake with his dad. Many fun times were had riding ATV’s in Perryville, MO at Gestring’s farm. His all-time favorite was cruising down the Mississippi river in his boat or boating at Table Rock Lake with his family. Good times were always had with Ivan. He was full of life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He will truly be missed by all!

Ivan is survived by his loving wife Julie (Morris) Diedrich, daughters; Kelsey (Alex) Hemby & Kaylee (Nick) O’Connor, grandsons; Ivan Hemby & Casey O’Connor, parents Everet & Cookie (Ruth) Diedrich, sisters; Pam (Sid) Joshi & Robyn (Chuck) Ackerman; as well as his brothers and sisters in law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will forever be loved and never be forgotten.

We will miss you dearly.

Ivan was a super cool dude. He had a real zest for his family, life and story telling! I’m glad I had the opportunity to meet him and also hear a story or two! I can hear his voice and see the delight in his eyes while telling one of his experiences!

Ivan was my cousin. We used to play with each other when family would gather. We would wrestle each other on the living room floor. He was a tiger. But most of all what I remember about Ivan was his soft spoken kindness to all whom he came in contact. He was a great kid. Sadly, the last time I saw him was at my father’s funeral. He graciously stopped by to offer condolences. It had been over 40 years since we saw each other. That was 2014. I will miss him. I hope I will see his extended family in the future. We were once a much larger gathered clan.

    Blessings Ivan.
