“Jack” Jackie H. Ash

In Loving Memory
Jackie (Jack) Harold Ash
11 July 1931 – 27 January 2014

Born in a small town called Taskee in southern Missouri during the depression, Jack grew up appreciating the value of a hard day’s work. Athletic and anxious to make his way in the World, he joined the Navy after graduating High School and did just that.

He served his country on the USS Monongahela during the Korean War and memories of his Navy travels and love of his country remained a huge part of him throughout his life.

When he was done with his Navy service, he fell in love and married a beauty named Ruth and settled in St. Louis, MO to raise their family. He worked in the oil industry all of his life and loved cars, racing, water skiing, boats and motorcycles but most of all, his Family, Friends and Flag!

He was a generous and loving man who genuinely cared about everyone he met, and a true Patriot. He is preceded in death by his Wife Ida Ruth (Morris) Ash and Daughter Judith L. Ash and survived by his Son James H. Ash, Sr., four Grandsons, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends and neighbors who loved him.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him…God Speed and Smooth Sailing Jack!!!

Services pending with military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Please check back for date and time.

I worked for the same company as Jack. I’ve known him for many years. I always looked up to Jack and thought of him as one of my mentors and I told him I wanted to be like him. Jack was always a real gentleman and a real class act. I always enjoyed his company, his stories, and his advice. RIP Jack.
