    Phil, Rebecca, Sarah:

We’ve never met, but I was a classmate of Jake’s at Missouri S&T. I distinctly remember seeing him come out of the math placement test on our PRO day talking to someone about how much he liked metal music. I was excited to know there was another metalhead in my incoming freshman class, but was too shy to strike up a conversation. Thankfully, just before we graduated, I finally got to know with him at an open mic night where I had the honor of filming him play:

Jake ended up being one of the coolest friends I made in Rolla. He went out of his way to message me on Facebook just to talk about guitar or seeing if I wanted to hang out. I admire his dedication to his craft and the kindness he showed to me and others.

My sincere condolences to your family.
