James Arthur Walker Jr

Life Reflections

James “Roach” Walker was born on November 25, 1954 to the union of James Walker Sr. and Ruth Walker. Both parents preceded him in death. James had one brother, Kenneth Walker.

A life-long single man, James was never married and had no children.

James graduated from Northwest High School in 1972, and went on to Purdue University in Louisiana, and then back to the University of Missouri St. Louis where he received his B.A. in Business/Finance.

James was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

He worked as a buyer for McDonald Douglas Aircraft where he traveled around the U.S. buying aircraft parts and supplies.

After that, he took on various jobs just to “keep it mov’in”.

Always the “life” of the party, James had a quick wit, and “infectious” laugh that kept folk laughing and in a good mood.

Each of his “pot’nahs” has a favorite story of James at a party doing first one thing, then another, to keep the party going.

James was an “avid” fan of the local baseball team, the St. Louis Cardinals.

After the death of both parents who died just (2) months apart, James’ life took a turn.

His already declining health got worse which eventually lead to kidney dialysis, and a “double amputation of both legs below his knees.

James departed this life Oct 4, 2017.

He leaves behind a brother Kenneth, a sister-n- law Carla, a niece and nephew and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins around the country.

James will be missed, but the fun memories will last in our hearts.

To Kenny and the Walker Family,
Roach or “Little Jimmy” as I called him and I met at Purdue University when I decided to pledge Kappa Alpha Psi. After joining our Noble Klan he became not only my brother but a lifelong dear friend.
He will always remain special to me. It saddened me to hear of his passing but the memories of him will sustain me. My brother suffers no more and if you know Roach he would tell me not to be sad, that he’s ok now. Rest In Peace my brother until we meet again.
    Forever,
    YITB,
    Little Juan’s,
    Darniel London

My condolences to the Walker Family…I too met James while attending Purdue University in the 70’s. I have fond memories of “Roach” and those days spent on the “yard”. Rest well my Kappa brother and may your love ones be comforted by He who has promised the Peace Which Passeth All Understanding.
