James Carr

July 20th, 1949 – March 16th, 2023

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of James (Jim/Jimmy) Carr on March 16, 2023. He passed at the age of 73 surrounded by his loving wife, daughter and sisters.

Jim was a  thoughtful, good-humored and a selfless man who loved nature, working with his hands, a dog lover, avid fisherman and boating on Table Rock Lake.  Jim had many people who loved him. He would drop everything and do anything for anyone who needed him. Every time we drive by Steak’n’Shake, a fishing lake, especially Table Rock or see a golden retriever (his favorite) we will think of Jim and smile.  He fought to the very end and is now free from pain, fishing his heart out in the great lakes of heaven and playing with his beloved animals that passed before him. Jim leaves a hole in our hearts and will be immeasurably missed by many.

Jim was a Maplewood High School graduate, class of 67 and served in the Army National Guard for six years. He owned his own successful business, Land and Construction Management for many years.

Jim is survived by his caring wife, Jeannie (Pieper) Carr, his beloved daughter, Anna Carr Ballance and her husband Stephen Ballance and his loving twin sisters Patricia Carr Froeckmann and Jacqueline Carr Swinnie and husband James Swinnie, as well as his nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends that were just like family. Preceded in death by his parents James A. Carr and Ruth E. Carr.

Celebration of Life for Jim will be held on April 14, 2023 at Pathfinder Church, 15800 Manchester Rd.  Ellisville  63011.  Visitation 10:00.  Memorial at 11:00.

Donations in memory of Jim to Open Door Animal Sanctuary would be appreciated.  Odas.org, P.O. Box 870, House Springs. MO 63051

Jim was a wonderful, kind and helpful friend. I know he is somewhere walking with his dogs and breathing easy without effort. I will miss him.

I can remember my cousin being a little stinker when we were young. He was quite the daredevil. We all had a lot of fun when we all got together at aunt Annie’s house. R.I.P. Jimmy. Until we meet again.

I remember the old days living on Bartold and all the fun we had as young kids. Our family has known him since we were little. We were close when we were young teenagers and he had a yellow chevy, fast car. Lol Jim is going to be missed by so many, he was kind and always there to help. Enjoyed a few float trips also. May he rest in peace! 💙❤️💙❤️🙏🙏🙏
