James Charles Allan
James Charles Allan, 66, died at home Sunday morning, January 7, 2018 with his wife, son and brother by his side. James was born February 13, 1951 in Kenosha, WI but called Florissant, MO home.
He was the son of the late Robert and Dorcas (nee Akins) Allan; dear father of Michael Allan of Milwaukee, WI; dear step-father of Dandy Thomas of WI and Tia Thomas of Florissant, MO, dear step-grandfather of Tristan Thomas, Gabby Tallman, Wesley Lane and Naiya Garett; dear brother of Ken Allan of Milwaukee, WI and Richard Allan of Sarasota, FL, dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
James was the beloved husband of Flonnie High-Allan of Florissant, MO. They were married in Kenosha, WI on May 24, 1985 and were happily married for 32 years, he also was very fond of his Maine Coon cat, Maggie, she was very special not only because she was deaf but because she was such a funny addition to their home.
James graduated from Bradford High School in 1969 where he lettered in swimming. He went on to earn a 1 year degree in Bookkeeping at Tech School in Sarasota, FL. His first job was at his father’s salvage yard, S&B Auto Salvage of Kenosha, WI, this most likely influenced his choice to work at Auto Zone in the St Louis area for the greater part of 14 years.
James enjoyed swimming, golf, camping, travel, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and stamp collecting and some of his greatest accomplishments mirrored this. He received the Eagle Award while in Boy Scouts, the Quartermaster Award while being an Explorer Sea Scout and the Adult Daisy Award as a Girl Scout.
Services: Friday, January 12, 2018 at the St Louis Cremation Chapel, 2135 Chouteau Ave, St Louis, MO 63103, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
