James Leo Kupferer

Mr. James “Jim” Leo Kupferer, 78, of St. Louis, Missouri, devoted husband, father of two, with five grandchildren, and one of nine brothers and sisters, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at his home in Affton, Missouri, with family by his side.

Jim was born on November 30, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to William Martin and Anna Louise (Vlah) Kupferer and is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia “Pat” Ann (Roesslein) Kupferer, who were married on January 15, 1966 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: William “Bill” Martin Kupferer Jr. of St. Louis, MO, Joseph “Joe” P. (late wife Sylvia) Kupferer Sr. of St. Louis, MO, and Robert “Bob” Richard (Joann) Kupferer Sr. of Louisianna, MO; one of his sisters: Ruth Elizabeth “Betty” Poliette of De Soto, MO; his wife’s parents: Joseph “Joe” John Roesslein Sr. and Margaret Odell “Dell” (Yawn) Roesslein; and his wife’s brother: Joseph “Joey” John Roesslein, Jr. of St. Louis, MO.

He is also survived by one sister: Mary Ann (Ben) Hanson of St. Louis, MO; three brothers: John Robert (Fran) Kupferer of Fort Myers, FL, Richard “Rich” Michael (late wife Yvonne) Kupferer Sr. of St. Louis, MO, and Thomas “Tom” Paul Kupferer of Columbia, MO; his wife’s two sisters and brother: Charlene Ann (late husband Mike) Weirich, Debra “Debbie” Ann (Lee) Hager and Timothy “Tim” John Roesslein of St. Louis, MO; his two children: Sandra “Sandy” Marie (David Jerome) Kippenberger of St. Louis, MO, and James “Jim” Leo (Paige Maxon) Kupferer, Jr., of Greenville, SC; and his five grandchildren: Courtney Anne Kippenberger, Hannah Marie Kippenberger, Joshua “Josh” David Kippenberger, James Alexander “Alex” Kupferer and William Chatham Kupferer along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

His desire was to be cremated and the family will hold a celebration of life picnic at George Winter Park on the Meramec River, Lions Shelter, 401 Allen Rd, Fenton, MO 63026, beginning at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 25th.

Due to the extreme weather conditions forecast for June 25th, the Celebration of Life picnic has been relocated.  Please join us on June 25th at 11:00am at the home of Danny Hendel, 884 Village Brook Ct., Ballwin MO 63021.
