The Rev. Dr. James R. Magnuson passed away at home on February 24, 2016. Born on May 19, 1933 to Andrew and Clara Magnuson. Married Nancy Anderson on June 29, 1957 and she survives, along with children Bruce (Mary Ellen), Bryan (Lisa) and Margit (Michael) Spires. He was grandfather to Elise, Andrew and Caroline Magnuson; Lauren and Blake Spires. He is also survived by brother Andrew (Isabelle) Magnuson. James graduated from University of Minnesota, North Park Theological Seminary and McCormick Theological Seminary. He spent 40 years in the Christian ministry, serving congregations in the Evangelical Covenant Church and the Presbyterian Church USA.

Services: A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 E. Adams Ave., on March 19, 2016 at 11:00am. Memorial contributions to Alzheimer’s Association or Music Ministry of First Presbyterian Kirkwood.
