Jan Elizabeth (Arensman) (McEwen) Landrum

Jan Elizabeth (Arensman) (McEwen) Landrum passed away January 20, 2024 at 92 years old. She was born in Metropolis, IL to Perry and Imogene (nee Cameron) Arensman.

Jan was a loyal and loving wife, mother, teacher, and friend. She was predeceased by her first
husband, John C. McEwen; her first daughter, Cameron McEwen; her second husband, Harold
J. Landrum; and her eldest stepson, Stephen Landrum (Tamara).

She is survived by her son Brock McEwen (Andrea), Harold Landrum (Becky),
Kevin Landrum (Rebecca) and her grandaughters Katie, Kelsey (Harold and Becky) and Danielle (Kevin and Rebecca)

Jan earned a Bachelor’s of Education degree from the University of Illinois and a Master’s of
Education degree from the University of Missouri. She taught home economics at the Brittany Wood Middle School in University City for the whole
of her career (1970-1992).

She was an accomplished textile artist with admired mastery of weaving with looms both large
and small.

Jan had many admirable traits, but top three were resilience, steadiness, and kindness in the
face of all that came her way.

Jan requested an engraved brick commemorating her life well-lived, be placed at the Members
Entry Court of the William T. Kemper Center for Home Gardening located at the Missouri
Botanical Garden
