Janet Louise Vale

Janet Louise Vale, our strong, beautiful, devoted mother passed away quietly on October 23, 2025 at the age of 74.

Preceded in death by her mother and father, Dolores and Ardell (Ralph) Vale. Her sister Barbara Ann Vale and her niece Renee Lynn Hartley.

Mom will be lovingly remembered and terribly missed by her children and grandchildren; Jennifer (Chris) and Elijah Green, Alan (Brandi) and Aurelius Holeman and Kathryn (Bill), Lilly and Linkin Drewes. Her sisters Joanne Willis, Linda O’Neil, Cindy Vale and one brother, Daniel Vale. As well as her many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mom had many hobbies to fill her time; she loved reading, watching her shows and taking care of her many plants. Most of all she loved to go to thrift stores, flea markets and garage sales whenever she could, always on the look out for her next antique. She shared her love and home with her pup Lucy who visited her often in the extended care home and is now living with Katy and Bill.  Two other pups already went over the rainbow bridge – Sweetie and Ellie. And last but not least, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.

Much like her mother, to say my mom loved Christmas is an understatement. This was her favorite time of the year and always made it extra special for her family. She had the most beautiful Christmas tree every year, never the same one twice – you could look at it for hours and never see all the ornaments hung lovingly from the branches.

Mom didn’t care for a lot of attention and fanfare so there will not be a funeral.  We will have a celebration of her life at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her name.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that day,

God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide.

And although we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one

The chain will link again.
