Janice Denise Leclerc

Janice Denise Leclerc (nee Eubank) passed away at home in Lake Saint Louis, MO on February 25, 2023. She was the eldest of nine children, born on September 5, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Huston and Agnes (nee Simpson) Eubank, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Andrea, and brothers, Gary and Vic. Her surviving siblings are Keith, Laurie, Hugh, Bruce, and Daniel.

In 1966, at the age of 19, she married Jean-Charles Leclerc and, together, they welcomed five children: Lisa (William) Hogan, Renee Miller, Stephanie Leclerc, Jean-Paul (Dee Dee) Leclerc, and Natalie (Brian) Zenk. She spent the next several years on the important task of raising her family and being a wonderful mother. Janice and Jean later divorced but remained friends until his death in 2013.

When her children were in their teenage years, Janice went back to school and became a Registered Nurse working on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Barnes Hospital. She was compassionate, kind, gentle, and tireless in providing care to and advocating for her patients. After approximately ten years of practicing, she had to disappointedly take early retirement due to her diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

Her hobbies included: reading, traveling, shopping, and crafting. She LOVED Bingo, jewelry, angels, and the color red! As Parkinson’s slowed her in her later years, she enjoyed going to the movies, listening to Andrea Bocelli, watching TV game shows and the Lifetime Channel, and playing Words with Friends on her tablet.

She is lovingly survived by her five children, 15 grandchildren (Amber (Adam), Drake, Taylor, Ashley, Heather, Tyler, Matthew, Nicolas, Joshua (Brittney), Miranda, Andrew, Tim (Nick), Victoria, Jace, and Skylar), as well as 16 great-grandchildren.

I remember working with her on the floor in my early days of being a nurse. She was always so kind and supportive of her fellow nurses especially the newbies! What a beautiful person inside and out…
