Jarrett Jordan Smith (Jordan)
In Loving Memory
Jarrett Jordan Smith (Jordan), 29 years of age, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Mercy Hospital St. Louis.
Jordan was born in St. Louis, MO in 1995, the beloved son of Melissa (Burrows) Mason and Jarrett Smith. He went to Leesville High School in Fort Polk, LA and Waynesville High School in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He was the oldest of three brothers.
Jordan had a close relationship and bond with his two brothers, Devin and Dylan Mason. Despite life’s challenges, he always had genuine love and concern for both of his brothers. Jordan took pride in being the big brother. He loved his mother, brothers, and family very much.
Jordan was a kind and gentle soul who adored animals, especially his cat Sadie. Jordan loved spending time with his family. He was especially close to his grandmother Daisy. As a young child, Jordan would spend many afternoons with his grandmother playing make-believe, telling stories about Grandmas WWE wrestler boyfriends, pretending his little tike’s car that he rode around the backyard was a Mustang that he was always fixing or pretending he couldn’t go any further because he ran out of gas. He had such a clever and creative imagination. The seriousness in him while pretending and making up silly stories would bring our family so much laughter. His giggle and laughter were contagious. Jordan grew up always trying to make people around him happy and laugh.
Throughout his life, he always tried to do special things for others to show his appreciation and love. He had an empathetic nature about him that allowed him to feel and care for others even while facing his own struggles. I believe that is why he chose to be an organ donor. Jordans final act of kindness was to donate his organs, allowing two others to live. The Honor Walk ceremony in the hospital brought some comfort to his devastated, heartbroken family. Mid-America Transplant shared with family that Jordan saved the life of a 56-year-old man in Kansas with his left kidney and his right kidney saved the life of a 30- year-old man in Missouri. Jordan left this world a true hero.
The amount of love and support Jordan had in his life was astounding. There are no words to describe how much he will be missed. We will miss his laugh, smile, and big heart. I hope you are finally at peace, son. May you fly high Jordan. We will always love and miss you. Until We Meet Again.
Jordan is survived by his mother, Melissa Mason, brother, Devin Mason, brother, Dylan Mason, and grandfather, Patrick Shaughnessy.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jarrett Miles Smith, stepfather, Ryan Kyle Mason, and three grandmothers: Melinda Yeager, Pamela Smith, and Daisy Schlechter.
A Memorial Service will be held on April 26, 2025, at 11:00am at Good News Community Church, 2793 US-61 Festus, MO 63028.
