Jean E. DeCamp

Jean Eleanor DeCamp, 72, died July 21, 2013 at her home in Creve Coeur, MO following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 20, 1940 in Chicago, IL. Beloved wife of Keith DeCamp for 48 years; dearest daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy Schaffer and dearest step-daughter of the late Mary Schaffer; beloved mother of Michael (Linda) DeCamp and Laura (Bradley) Chappell; dear grandmother of Jack, Emily and Ava; loving sister of the late Gloria Street; our dearest step-sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many. After graduating from Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago she cared for others as a registered nurse for over 50 years with 30 of those as a Director of Nursing specializing in long-term and geriatric care. She was actively involved in the Long Term Care Director of Nursing Association at both the local and state levels. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed many artistic activities. A memorial service will be held on July 25, 2013 at 5:00 pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 13014 Olive Boulevard?, Creve Coeur, MO 63141. The family suggests any remembrances be made in Jean’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
