November 12, 1949 – June 22, 2025.

Jeanette (Jane) Laura Prater, 75 of Stelleville, IL passed away June 22, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Surrounded by family.

She was born November 12, 1949 in Somerset, PA to the late Dora (Weaver) Byrd and the late Raymond Byrd.  She married the late Richard J. Prater on October 25, 1969 in Elizabeth Town, North Carolina.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching hummbirds, and spending time with her friends and family.

Jane will be lovingly missed by her daughter Tammy Prater-May (Jay Fisher), her grandchildren Cheyenne and Kegan May, her twin sister Jeanece (Richard) Van Order and her sister Joyce Emert, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

She was proceeded in death by her brother Harry Byrd, and sisters Cathie White and Connie Coblentz.

Her wish was to be cremated with no service for her family and friends memories of her, to be forever, carried in their hearts.
