Jeanne Timby

Jeanne Helen Timby, 60, died on 1/17/14 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis after a courageous 1 ½ year battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life party will be held at Failoni’s Restaurant, 6715 Manchester Ave., in St. Louis, on 2/1/14 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Her friends and family invite anyone who knew and loved Jeanne to attend this gathering.

Jeanne was born in Buffalo, NY on May 27, 1953 to Jeanne Marie Dottereich Sweeney and John Patrick Sweeney, Sr.. Jeanne graduated from the Mt. St. Mary’s Acadamy in Kenmore, NY in 1971. She then attended and graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo with a B.S. in Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, Jeanne blessed patients in Quincy, IL, Canton, MO, Columbia, MO and St. Louis, MO with her expert care, sweet spirit and sharp medical mind. In 1982, when Jeanne moved to St. Louis, she left her indelible mark on patients throughout the City of St. Louis. Jeanne worked as the head nurse at St. Louis Regional Hospital and then, for the last fifteen years, she worked as a home health nurse in the St. Louis inner city area. All who knew her loved her. Jeanne will be sorely missed by all.

Jeanne is survived by her brother, John P. (Bud) Sweeney, Jr. of Buffalo and nieces Casey (husband, Frank) Washburn, Ryann (husband, Brian) Kinyon, Jessica (husband, A.J.) Raymond, and nephew, Tommy McCraith, all in the Buffalo, NY area, and her Uncle, Bob Dotterweich of Dayton, Ohio. Also surviving are many, many dear, close friends, who will miss her tremendously.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and sister, Mary Ellen Sweeney Booth.

    I miss my friend…:(… She knew me better than I know myself. I know she is in a better place, as her suffering, especially these last 6 mos has been immense, so I am glad she is suffering no more and is serving in her new capacity as my angel, but…I still miss her so much..:(

    My dear, sweet friend, Jeanne. You lit up the world and made it a beautiful place. I’ll miss you and miss your laugh…. oh, that laugh. Heaven is a better place now that you are there.
