Edward “Peter Rabbit” Jefferson was born May 13, 1944 to Janie Jefferson (Travis ) and R.D. Alexander in Hub, Mississippi.
Peter Rabbit moved to Richmond Heights, MO in 1952 with his family. There he attended Maplewood Richmond Heights High School and was baptized at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Peter Rabbit attended Ranken Technical College and worked as a mechanic until his departure. He worked for Brentwood Fill and Materials, Wortham’s Standard Amoco, Herbert Cole Construction, and Frank’s Automotive.
Peter Rabbit was preceded in death by his mother Janie Jefferson (Travis), father R.D. Alexander, step-father Roosevelt Travis, brother Johnny Alexander and his sons Anthony Jefferson and Anthony Porter.
He leaves to mourn his aunts Ida B. Johnson and Rebecca Kinney, sisters and brothers Helen Abram, Eddie Ree Jackson, Robert Alexander, Mae Steward, Kaiser Alexander, Louise Alexander and Avie Richards; daughters Mae (Jefferson) Adams, LaDonna (Jefferson) Holmes, LaVania Wagner, Marian (Mills) Tyson, Janene Jefferson-Debow, Janie-Marie Jefferson and a great host of baby bunnies, grandbaby bunnies, great-grandbaby bunnies, nieces, nephews and friends galore.
Missie and family, I would like to send my condolence to you and to tell you that I love you and I am a phone call away.
Your struggle is over. You are free. Rest in peace in your new heavenly home.
