Jerald (Jerry) Wayne Lawler

Jerald (Jerry) Wayne Lawler, beloved Husband, Dad, and Grandpa, drew his last breath on April 13, 2021.

Jerry was born on June 29, 1938, in Vandalia, IL. He was the youngest of 7 kids.

While growing he was known for his outstanding ability to run. He broke multiple records in the 100-year dash and the 220-yard dash as well as winning many other important track events.

After high school, Jerry joined the Navy where he proudly served on the USS Rochester. He was so proud of his ship!

In May of 1969, Jerry became a father to his son, Paul.

Jerry married, Pat, in July of 1973. Where he became a wonderful Dad to Jean and Paula.

He earned his living as an electrician. In his last job, he was the robot fixer on the Cincinnati Milacron at Chrysler. He retired from Chrysler on Dec 31, 2002.

To his family, he was affectionally known as ‘Grandpa fix it’. He could fix just about anything especially if it involved electronics.

He liked to travel with his wife, Pat. They were fortunate to go to many places in the United States as well as taking several cruises. They even took their grandson, John, on several of their trips.

In the summer Jerry could be found watching a St. Louis Cardinal game with a cold beer in his hand. In the winter he loved to watch any football game where the Cowboys were not playing.

He will be greatly missed. The world has lost a wonderful man.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pat, his girls Paula (Ron) Schwartz, Jean (Mark) Haase, and grandchildren: John (Theresa) Haase, James Haase, Jeffery Haase, Jennie (Rob) Henningfeld, Julie Schwartz, Jamie Schwartz, and Kyle Porter. He is preceded in death by his son, Paul Lawler.

Jerry will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks on Wednesday, April 21st @ 1:30.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sarah Community Charitable Fund.

My dear cousin Pat, I just learned about Jerry’s passing today. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I pray that you are doing well. I tried the one phone number that I had but it was disconnected. God bless Betty
