Jerry LaMont

Jerry LaMont, age 83, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Jerry was a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and dear friend.

Jerry spent 30 years in public education teaching elementary music and art. In addition to his time in the classroom, he served in music ministry at several local churches, leading choirs, handbell ensembles, and youth groups. His creative and artistic talents extended far beyond his career; he delighted in sharing his love of music and art with everyone he met.

After retiring, Jerry focused his time on creating art, traveling to historic destinations with his wife, Fran, and doting on his five grandchildren. He held a deep love for the Christmas season—a passion he shared every year by making handmade gifts for his daughters, baking treats for family and friends, and designing custom adornments for the church sanctuary. Each holiday season, he fully transformed his home with dozens of Christmas trees, thousands of ornaments, and antique collectibles for all to enjoy during the annual LaMont Christmas Open House.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Lillie LaMont, and his brothers, Donald and Earl LaMont.

He is survived by his loving wife, Francene “Fran” LaMont; his daughters, Allison (Andy) and Jessica (Marc); his grandchildren, Grace (Sami), Lily (Brady), Jason, Megan, and Claire; his sister, Dorothy “Dot”; his twin sister, Joan (Jim); and many other beloved family members and lifelong friends.
