Jerry Mehrle
Jerry Dean Mehrle, age 75, of Wright City, Missouri, completed the project set before him called life and went home to be with Jesus on May 18, 2026. He passed away peacefully from cancer in the house he made a home. Because of his legacy of faith, his family grieves with the hope of one day being reunited with him.
Jerry was born on July 18, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was raised with strong Christian values that guided him throughout his entire life. Known as a man of hard work and unwavering dedication, Jerry carried himself with quiet strength. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, teach someone how to fix something, or fill a room with laughter. Those closest to him knew him as a man full of energy; he was always ready to work, serve, and clown around, driven by a lifelong desire to never be bored.
He took great pride in providing for those he loved and found his ultimate joy in their happiness. Whether gathered around the table, working with his hands, fishing (though not always catching), or playfully teasing the people he loved, Jerry deeply treasured the relationships he built. His love for his family was visibly woven into the many home improvement projects he completed in each of their homes. He rarely sat still for long, but whatever was broken would usually be fixed by the end of his visit. He joyfully shared the things he loved—cars, home improvement, fishing, and ice cream—with his children and grandchildren alike.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; his children, Mike (Shauna) Mehrle, Josh (Libby) Mehrle, Jared (Amy) Mehrle, and David (Becky) Mehrle; and his cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Kaden, Gibson, Haley, Alyce, Kaite, Wendy, Ashton, Ian, and Silas. He also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends who will forever treasure his memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Wentzville Christian Church in Wentzville, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by the celebration service at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate the completion of a good and faithful servant’s race.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jerry’s name to the Wentzville Christian Church Bold Future building fund. Donations can be made via check or online.
I have had the pleasure to know Jerry for 4 plus decades. He treated me as if I was one of his own kids. I along with many others will miss him. Rest easy sir, we have it from here.
We’ve known Jerry and Kathy for many years and enjoyed getting together whenever we could arrange it. I’m so thankful he is now free from pain and is in the Lords presence. I’ll be praying for Kathy and his family and friends for peace and comfort.
Jerry was a steadfast presence growing up. His unwavering commitment to his family and his chosen family were unmatched. If there was a laugh to be had, you would find Jerry there. His eyes twinkled when he laughed, that’s how you knew he was enjoying himself. He will be missed by so many.
