Jessie Eugene “Gene” Clarkson, formerly of Villa Park, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, February 15^th, 2026, at the age of 73 in St. Louis, Missouri. Gene was born in West Memphis, Arkansas on December 11^th, 1952, to the late Tobe and Bessie Clarkson, and raised in Berkley, Illinois alongside his three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Tiffany Clarkson, Kelly (Michael) McBride, and Holly Bourne. A devoted “Papa” to his grandchildren, Clark and Alec McBride, and Hayley Bourne.  He is also survived by and will be deeply missed by many extended family members and lifelong friends.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Dottie, who passed in 2024, his parents, and two siblings.

Gene was a hardworking and dependable man who worked for many years in warehouse operations as a forklift operator, always providing for his family.  He cherished every moment he could spend with his wife, three daughters, and took immense pride in becoming a grandpa. Besides family, he loved action and superhero movies, comics, naps, and an ice-cold Diet Pepsi. He will be remembered for his silliness and playful spirit, and he will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Gene’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
