Joanne Conlon
Joanne Conlon (nee: Nero), age 79, of St. Louis MO , passed away on 9/19/26 from cancer, surrounded by family. She was born on 02/17/1947 in St. Louis, MO.
Joanne was an incredible friend to many — especially her “second family” at Hair Statement — a devoted Catholic, a fun-loving cousin to her extended family, an aunt, a mother-in-law, a sister-in-law, a godmother, a loving and appreciative sister, a devoted Nani to her 5 grandchildren and a generous mother.
Joanne was preceded in death by her mother Margaret (nee: Corso) and her father George F. Nero her stepfather John H. “Bud” Hertzog her brother John G. Nero and stepbrother Jack Hertzog, her brother-in-law Don Turner. She is survived by her son John Nero, her daughter Tricia (Max) Drury, her son Tom Conlon, her sister Cherie Turner (nee: Hertzog), her grandchildren Alessandra, Annabella and Zachary Nero, her grandchildren Camila and Max Drury.
Memorial will be held on 10/17/2026 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110 beginning at 10:00 am.
Visitation will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on 10/17/2026 beginning at 08:45 am.
Following mass, there will be a luncheon celebrating Joanne’s life from 11:30 am – 3:30 pm at Pietro’s, 3801 Watson Road, St. Louis, Mo, 63109.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children, APA, St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital, and/ or Evelyn’s House.

You gave me my first Maryland Heights color and hair cut! And then Jenny became my regular for many, many years afterwards in the chair right next to your son. Rest in peace and bless your family and extended family.
While I have not seen Joanne in many years, my memory of her has never faded. She was always kind and welcoming to all of Johnny and Tricia’s friends. I remember many events at their house, her steadfast appearances at Church, and participation in school events when we were young. Heaven has gained a wonderful lady. May God bring peace to her family, loved ones, and friends.

Joanne was spirited woman, who we could always fine something to talk to me about we took many a class together at Edward Jones YMCA, our favorite class was spin so keep spinning in Heaven Joanne GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN.
I remember her well especially her smile. She was always so happy to see everyone in cycling class. She also was giving and kind, I remember she helped her friends/neighbors with things if they needed it. I had not seen her in a few months and called to check on her. She told me of her diagnosis, she was so brave. What struck me the most was her acceptance, she said to me “ I have my family , my faith and I am loved , what else do I need”. We will miss her, a one of a kind gem.
