Joe Brent
Joe Purser Brent peacefully passed away Sunday December 29, 2019. Born September 1, 1925 in Holmesville, Mississippi. The son of Sam A. Brent and Janie O. Brent.
He was a Scout leader, Khoury League coach, and served in Europe during World War II with the US Army 23rd Headquarters (Ghost Army). He retired from the Gerber Baby Products Company in 1986.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 70 years, Baye W. Brent; sons: James P. Brent (Teresa Eurom Brent), and Stephen P. Brent (Susie Matteuzzi Brent); granddaughter Jamie Brent (Jordan Smith); and two great-grandsons: Maxwell and Wyatt Smith.
He will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Dayspring Baptist Church Music Ministry.

Coach Brent lead my first Khoury league baseball team. I will always remember his positive encouraging attitude to all of his players. He set a great example that we all benefited from experiencing. My condolences to his wife Baye and his sons Jim and Steve. Craig Schnuck
