Joseph “Joe” Hawkins, 78 years old passed on May 19, 2014 at Barnes Extended Care in St. Louis, MO.

He was born on February 23, 1936 to Henry Hawkins and Minnie Moore but was raised by Willie Mae Jackson, all of whom have preceded him in death.

Joe worked at Spann, Clean Tech, Gentry’s Landing and retired from Saint Louis University as a Laboratory Technician in the Research Building.

He married Cora Hawkins and to this union came 4 children; Demetrius, Yvette, Monique, and Joe. His life partner, Cecilia Lane preceded him in death.

He is survived by 3 brothers; Lovell, Henry, Willie (all of Champagne, Urbana); 1 sisters; Rosie (of St. Louis, MO); and 1 half-sister Mamie (of Champagne, Urbana); a host of nieces, nephews and grand-children.
