Johanna Rita Walker (née Honigfort), born March 11, 1932, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025.

Johanna was the beloved wife of the late Eugene P. Walker. She was a devoted mother to Charles Walker of Chesterfield, Missouri, and the late Brian Walker, and a loving stepmother to the late Preston Walker.

She was the cherished sister-in-law of Betty Honigfort of St. Louis, Missouri, and a treasured aunt, great-aunt, and great-great-aunt to well over 75 nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her warmth and kindness.

Johanna was the daughter of the late John Honigfort and Mary Honigfort (née Hempen). She was the youngest of four siblings, preceded in death by her sister Helen Albrecht (née Honigfort), her brother Henry Honigfort, and her sister Mary Heger (née Honigfort).

Born in her family home in Chesterfield, Missouri, Johanna spent the majority of her life there. She and her family were longtime parishioners of Ascension Parish in Chesterfield and resided on Wild Horse Creek Road for many years. Johanna was a graduate of Ascension Elementary School and attended Eureka High School.

A talented, self-taught artist, Johanna possessed a gentle creativity and a pleasant sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her kindness, wit, and artistic spirit will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

A private memorial service will be held in celebration of Johanna’s long and meaningful life.
