John Anthony Evans, of Lake St. Louis, Mo. passed away Monday, August 9, 2021, at the age of 61. Devoted father of John Anthony Evans II, cherished son of Patricia Marie Evans and the late Edward James Evans II. Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Edward James Evans III, the late William (Faye) Evans, the late Ann Evans, Kathleen (Thomas) Hemmer, Joseph Evans, Michael Evans, the late Alice Evans, and Mary (Charles) Munzer. Loving grandfather of John Anthony Evans III and Nova Evans.

John received an automotive degree from Bailey Technical School and joined the Army where he repaired tanks while stationed in Germany. After serving 4 years of active service, he went on to serve 6 years in the Army Reserves, traveling to Paris and achieving the rank of Sergeant. After the military, John worked various jobs until settling on his career as a Furniture Refinisher at Rothman Furniture.

He had a unique and witty perspective of the world and never had an unkind word to say about anyone. He enjoyed gardening and tinkering in the garage and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Family was important to John and his proudest accomplishment in life was raising his son John Jr.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua in St. Louis at 10:30 am. Immediately following, a committal service with military honors will take place at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery.

The family requests donations are made to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled American Veterans.
