I am so very sorry. John was like a brother to me and I will miss him. When you called I thought John was just calling me to share one of his many jokes. I am glad I was able to spend a week with him last year, and I will forever treasure that. You all take care and I will see you soon. Love Dan

    What an incredibly devastating loss.

John and I go back to my birth, basically. Hank and my father were friends since the 40’s, I suppose. The two families were close for many years. I remember Hank, Nona, David, Henry very well but for some reason, I didn’t know Robert so well (?) but knew John the best of all of the Duerscheidts. John owned the 1st transmission shop that I ever worked in back in 1984. I’ve been in that field ever since. John and I recently started working and of course playing together again. We were riding together and perhaps a couple sips of bourbon once in a while. 🙂 John just joined a motorcyclist rights organization that I belong to. I hoped that would give him more friends to ride with. We were closer than ever before in the last 3 or 4 months of his life. John had dreams of retiring and traveling to Alaska with his 5th wheel camper / toy hauler. It was our plan that I would help him achieve that goal. John was a great man and a good friend. I only wish that I reunited as friends with him years ago but will always have found memories of him. Especially our last ride together.

Rob Britt, son of Robert E. Britt
